Background: Shaping a Care Association for Norfolk • From July 2018 to April 2019: a consultation with three main stages • Stage 1: Desktop research into how other Care Associations work: 17 Care Associations including nine telephone interviews • Stage 2: Ten half-day consultation workshops offered across Norfolk: 78 participants • Stage 3: Seven-week online survey seeking provider views on the purpose, benefit and structure of a Care Association: 154 responses • The consultation was designed in partnership with University of East Anglia and the University of Suffolk and has been facilitated by seven Market Connectors all of whom work in the social care sector.

  8. Norfolk Care Association: Aim Norfolk Care Association Ltd will act as a single body representing all social care organisations providing direct care to individuals and their families and operating in the Norfolk and Waveney area.

Norfolk Care Association: Objectives • to engage with social care and health commissioners in the Norfolk and Waveney area in discussions: on the cost of care, new policies and guidance, and standardisation of systems and procedures that affect social care providers. • to provide a forum for those working in social care to meet and share good practice • to provide a first port of call, signposting providers to trusted sources of information and advice • to provide other services that the Directors consider would add value to the social care sector

  13. Next Steps • We are waiting the outcome of a funding proposal for initial set up and operating costs • Subject to receipt of funding, the Interim Board will be recruiting a Chief Executive Officer
