Multimeter/AVO meter • A multimeter is a device used to measure voltage, resistance and current in electronics & electrical equipment. • It is also used to test continuity between to 2 points to verify if there is any breaks in circuit or line. • There are two types of multimeter Analog & Digital • Analog has a needle style gauge • Digital has a LCD display AJI

  30. Rheostat It is an adjustable or variable resistor. It is used to control the electrical resistance of a circuit without interrupting the flow of current. Rheostat has 3 terminals and usually consist of a resistive wire wrapped to form a toroid coil with a wiper that slides along the surface of the coil. AJI

  31. Capacitor A capacitor is a passivetwo-terminalelectrical component that stores electrical energy in an electric field. The effect of a capacitor is known as capacitance. AJI

  32. Ballast An electrical ballast is a device placed in line with the load to limit the amount of current in an electrical circuit. It may be a fixed or variable resistor. A familiar and widely used example is the inductive ballast used in fluorescent lamps to limit the current through the tube, which would otherwise rise to a destructive level due to the negative differential resistance artifact in the tube's voltage-current characteristic.
