Mission Statement • Mission:  To prepare all students for the future by striving for excellence in pursuit of a quality education by providing a rigorous and relevant curriculum within a safe and caring environment. • School Vision: To establish a productive and efficient educational environment by including all stakeholders in its creation to achieve our school’s mission. • Population served: students enrolled from grade 9-12

Duties • Interview students who are failing either one or two classes • If they have ever been at risk for committing suicide you monitor for depression • If they’re failing classes try and find creative new ways to motivate students, encourage them, figure out reasons for lack of motivation, help them reach their goals/set goals • Observe Student Support Team meetings and help with interventions

  4. Duties cont’d • When helping others besides Mr. Nardella… • Observe registration process • Go with counselor to talk to students about how to apply to college, what a transcript is, what classes to take, etc. • Go to SAVE meetings/peer mediation groups, etc.

  5. Would I recommend it? • I absolutely recommend this site for future Practicum students. Mr. Nardella is a great supervisor who is willing to help you with anything you need, but treats you respectably as he does his other colleagues. If you are interested in becoming a school counselor you will learn how the system works for SST’s and monitoring students and overall what you’ll do later on in life. Mr. Nardella is willing to offer you any experience possible, especially if it’s something particular you’re interested in.
