Implications for Business จากปัญหาต่างๆที่กล่าวมาไม่ว่าจะเป็นปัญหาของการเพิ่มขึ้นของประชากร ทรัพยากรของโลกกำลังถูกใช้จนหมดลง ภูมิอากาศมีการเปลี่ยนแปลง แหล่งพลังงานฟอสซิลขาดแคลนและมีราคาแพง ฯลฯ ล้วนส่งผลกระทบต่อการดำเนินธุรกิจ คือ 1. ต้นทุนในการดำเนินธุรกิจสูงขึ้น ไม่ว่าจะเป็นต้นทุนของสินค้าหรือบริการโดยตรง เช่น ธุรกิจสายการบิน หรือค่าใช้จ่ายในการดำเนินธุรกิจทางอ้อม เช่น ค่าปรับจากการปล่อยน้ำเสียในโรงงาน ฯลฯ 2. ชื่อเสียงและภาพลักษณ์ของธุรกิจที่อาจไม่ดีในสายตาของสังคม 3. ผลการดำเนินงานของธุรกิจอาจแย่ลง จากผลกระทบของความไม่แน่นอนทางการเมือง

Recommend for Business จากปัญหาต่างๆที่กล่าวมาข้างต้น บริษัทควรมีวิธีการปรับเปลี่ยนกระบวนทัศน์และวิธีการดำเนินทางธุรกิจเพื่อให้มีความสามารถในการแข่งขันทางธุรกิจอย่างยั่งยืน 1. ในเรื่องการพัฒนายั่งยืนควรจะกำหนดเป็นวิสัยทัศน์ และมีการส่งเสริมแนวคิดนี้ให้ทุกคนในองค์กรมีความเข้าใจ เพื่อให้ทุกคนในองค์กรช่วยกันขับเคลื่อนธุรกิจไปสู่วิสัยทัศน์ที่กำหนดเอาไว้ 2. ควรมีการคิดค้นนวัตกรรมที่สร้างสรรค์ผลประโยชน์ต่อทั้งสังคมและความสามารถในการแข่งขันของบริษัท เช่น การสร้างนวัตกรรมเครื่องจักรที่ใช้พลังงานอื่นๆที่ไม่ใช่พลังงานจากฟอสซิล เป็นต้น 3. ภาคธุรกิจควรมีการดำเนินกิจกรรมที่แสดงความรับผิดชอบต่อสังคม โดยเฉพาะสิ่งแวดล้อม เช่น การดำเนินโครงการ CDM ฯลฯ เพื่อลดผลกระทบที่อาจเกิดขึ้นจากการไม่คำนึงถึงสิ่งแวดล้อมในอนาคต
