Background • The sphere of telecommunication is threatened with lack of employees • Shortage of qualified workers with broad set of skills • Average age of workers can be in some organizations up to 55 • Workers work alsowithout official qualification - changing workplace is inconvenient, sometimes impossible • In Finland and Estonia different curriculums and the approach to training, but the purposes similar • ICT Cert project tries to resolve the listed problems ICT Cert 2007

The goals of the ICT Cert project • The purpose of ICT Cert project is to create a system within which it is possible to obtain diplomas and certificates on professional qualification in sphere ICT (telecommunication). Partners of the project (educational organisations) will be organizing the tests/qualifications. • The other goal is to create common curriculum, training program and training material for Estonia and Finland.   6. Requirements comparison • In the beginning of the project • Requirements look very different • Vordlemise algkava_veebr _2006.doc by Vello Vanem • Result: about 90% of the requirements are the same, there is only some national parts. ICT Cert 2007

  10. Future plans • The partners aim to continue co-operation • Created material can be used also in other (related) trainings e.g. in IT or in Electrician training • Further development project possibilities will be studied • In ICT • In related studies ICT Cert 2007
