  2. Why the cultural system? Because an organization’s cultural system determines how it will perform in it’s daily activity, and is the cornerstone for evolution and success. How many organizations actively manage their cultural system? Less than 10% worldwide! Your organization most probably invests substantial time, effort, and resources in standardizing, managing, and improving its operational, administrative, and other systems, but hasn’t taken the same care for its cultural system. The result, as with any unmanaged system is… ¡Chaos! The Cultural Effectiveness Center provides proven tools and methodologies to leave behind the perception of the cultural system as “intangible” and “soft”, and incorporate it to your organization’s overall management processes and strategies. This will radically reduce crisis, communication problems, and the permanent reprocess that is a natural part of any unmanaged system. www.usmcoc.org

  3. www.usmcoc.org Which are the objectives of cultural-system management? Cultural System Management (CSM) has two main objectives: • Cultural clarity, which ensures that cultural standards are fully aligned with organizational strategies, and provides an environment of trust and certainty. • Cultural effectiveness, which standardizes day-to-day organizational interaction under parameters of world-class effectiveness.

  4. The Areas of CSM Implementation These are the four areas of organizational activity, that more directly shape the cultural system. The key is to ensure the effectiveness and congruency in each. The CEC has developed the only system for auditing each, based on clear, quantifiable indicators. Organizational Knowledge management 5 indicators HR Management Policies & Procedures 4 indicators Internal & External Interaction Processes 9 indicators Cultural Effectiveness of Leadership 3 indicators www.usmcoc.org

  5. www.usmcoc.org Cultural diversity… It’s an absolutely positive force for organizations, right? Not necessarily! The myth of cultural diversity Diversity brings vitality and positive conflict into the organization. The problem arises when diversity is taken to the extreme, and the organization tries to accommodate every cultural perception. When an organization doesn’t have a highly integrated culture, it ceases to be an organization, and disintegrates into a group, creating divisions, misunderstandings, and frictions. The only true solution to diversity, is to provide a solid, integrated cultural system, as a basis for effective interaction, true cultural fairness, and harmony. Don’t worry about eliminating the positive aspects of diversity, people will unavoidably provide those values, beliefs, perspectives, and behaviors that were programmed into their cultural system from birth.

  6. Set the foundations for world-class effectiveness and clarity Now! Start managing your cultural system. We provide the tool: The Cultural Effectiveness and Transparency Process (CET) www.usmcoc.org

  11. Services Initial Audit A traditional corporate climate study provides a vision of how employees percieve an organization, and how thy feel about different subjects. This is valuable information, but it is a subjective perspective of an organization’s cultural situation. Our proprietary Cultural-System Audit provides objective, concrete data on the status of effectiveness and clarity of the four key areas that shape a cultural system: HR management, Knowledge management for improvement and innovation, interaction, and cultural leadership. The same that apply for the CET certification. • This process provides clear, quantified answers and benchmarks for critical questions such as: • Do we have effective, clear cultural standards for operating the cultural system? • What level of integration do our people hav with those standards? • Do our people apply those standards in day-to-day collaboration, or have they simply been transmitted in as theory or philosophical elements? • Is our leadership performing their cultural functions effectively? • Is our organizational environment aligned with cultural standards, and reinforces them? Certification Audit This audit evaluates the state of the cultural system, setting it against global benchmarks, to determine if they meet the criteria for granting the Cultural Effectiveness and Transparency Certification. www.usmcoc.org

  12. Services Program Certification and Registration The CEC certifies programs based on an in-depth analysis of their quality, focus and congruence with the fundamentals of Cultural-System management and Certification. The certification, ensures organizations that a program meets the highest standards of effectiveness and quality. The Registration of a program, such as a program to develop Culturally-Intelligent Trainer in an organization, requires that both the program, and the instructor are Certified, and provides a registration code that gives certificates full USMCEF accreditation. Consultant / Trainer Certification This Certification may be granted to consulting firms, or independent consultants in the field of Cultural-System Management and Certification, once they meet all CEC standards. www.usmcoc.org

This talk provides a clear vision of the evolution process followed by all leading cultures, separates myth from reality of sustainable competitiveness, and shows how to apply the process to our organizations. Cultural Intelligence In today’s global environment, the capacity to understand and manage cultural differences both inside and outside our organizations is one of the cornerstones for success. This talk provides the basis for understanding the process of cultural system management, and the skills to create effective teams in a multicultural organization. Cultural functions of managers as leaders There are as many styles of leadership as there are leaders. The real key for effective leadership is to integrate the cultural functions of organizational leaders, not their styles. Which are the cultural functions of managers in average organizations? Which are their functions in effective organizations? This talk helps to integrate management’s cultural leadership under global-class parameters of effectiveness. www.usmcoc.org

  16. Conferences Cultural Transparency and Effectiveness Certification (CTEC) Efforts to regulate and enforce transparency in organizations, have been fundamentally administrative in nature, and focusing on top management and Boards of Directors. These are only superficial solutions, the real problem is cultural incongruency between stated principles and organizational reality. As an answer, the Cultural Effectiveness Center, has created the world’s first certification to ensure cultural transparency and effectiveness (CTEC). Learn more about this tool for competitiveness and good corporate citizenship. Communication and rituals in corporate tribes Why are most organizations so good at informing, and so bad at communicating? The answer rests in the characteristics and habits that have been programmed in humans over a period of more than 800,000 years. This talk brings greater comprehension of the ancestral cultural barriers to communication, and shows ways to create new rituals that will promote and ensure effective communication throughout your organization. Border of contrast: Mexico is one of the most important partners of the United States, in trade, geographically, and socially, but the cultural differences between the two are huge; It has even been said that never have two such different cultures shared such a large border, and such a complex relationship. This talk provides insight into what has made each culture what it is, the resulting areas of conflict, and offers ideas on ways to facilitate collaboration between both, in social and business environments. www.usmcoc.org

  17. Conferences An integrated, aligned cultural system, the optimal answer to diversity The workplace has become more and more culturally diverse, and organizations have tried to accommodate each and every cultural framework in order to minimize discrimination. This has led to even more conflict, and to fragmented organizations. The optimal solution is to establish a strategically aligned, effective cultural system wich will act as a “cultural” third way and integrate the organization. This conference focuses on the little-discussed negative aspects of diversity, and provides the answers for minimizing them.
