Requirements • Read the assigned class text : Hard copy is given to you and a softcopy is on VLE under ODL • Objectives: Learn to be an independent learner, critical thinker, gather information, evaluate information and present information orally through PowerPoint presentation and in writing an essay. The purpose is that you will master learning skills, presentation skills and writing skills in preparation for the classes in January 2014.

  3. Expectations • The student handbook is available on VLE and please talk to your coordinator to access it. • Punctuality: Be on time for classes; use proper dress cord; if sick, obtain a leave form and submit it to the Head of Academic Affairs • Keep the classroom neat and tidy • Respect one another • Submit you assignments on time

  4. Expectations • Speak in English all the time when you are in IIHS premises • Maintain a book as a dictionary to write and learn vocabulary

  5. 1. Students are divided into small groups. Based on the days lesson, small groups will select a topic and make a presentation in the class (Ex. Independent learning: Read the text and make a small group presentation to the class)

  6. 2. Students in small groups will select a theme related to nursing and make a group presentation using PowerPoint. • Students will evaluate the group using a rubric.

  7. 3. Based on the PowerPoint presentation, each student will write a professional paper with APA style. They will use peer evaluation method to edit the professional paper and make a final submission. Dr. George Perera
