  4. Jaathi are 5 Taalam are 7 Hence we have 5 X 7 = 35 Taalam

  5. Description for the Symbols: | = a Laghu O = a Dhrutham U = an Anu-Dhrutham

  6. These are the Angam (parts) of the Taalam | Laghu is ‘Beating the palm and counting’ O Dhrutham is ‘Beating and turning it over’ U Anu-Dhrutham is only ‘Beating the palm’

  7. Laghu will change according to the Jaathi Dhrutham & Anu-Dhrutham will not change
