Modern Computer • Z1 • Invented by Konrad Zuse in 1936. • A Mechanical computer that was electrically operated • The first computers to start using some componentry • Eniac • U.S. army needed a computer for calculating artillery-firing tables, the settings used for different weapons under varied conditions for target accuracy • John Mauchly and John Eckert developed(1946) using vacuum tubes to speed up calculations.
