  1. Doc. 2CGC0070 Perfection in connection Z-busbar connectors

  2. Perfection in connection Expertly engineered to ensure safety, usability and continuous operation

  3. Perfection in connection Expertly engineered to ensure safety, usability and continuous operation Compact design Reduced width occupies less space on busbar. Speed up installation One screw for cable connection improves speed and torque control. Safety as standard Improved IP-protection for increased safety. Secure connection Verified according to IEC 61238-1-1 Class A to secure qualitative connection over its life time. Easier inspection Marking for mounting guidelines and transparent plastic for visibility. Reliable connection Contact grease included as standard and qualitative pressure part for reliable connection.

  4. IEC 61238-1-1 Compression and mechanical connectors for power cables Securing qualitative connections to busbar system What? Test procedure Remarks • Clarify requirements for compression and power cables e.g. buried cables or cables installed in buildings • Compliance according to two different classes: • Class A – heat cycle and short-circuit tests • Class B – heat cycle tests only • Standard sets requirement on mechanical pull-out force 20kN • ABB Kabeldon test the connectors with the applicable busbar which is to be used (no uncertainty) • ABB Kabeldon’s connector range has undergone test according Class A, e.g. including short-circuit test • Resistance measuring every 75 cycle, requirement is a low and stable resistance • For cable connectors on fusegears, requirements are not as tough as for cable connectors • EBR KJ31:13 is prescribing compliance with IEC 61238-1-1 • Class A: Total 1000 heat cycles, after 200 cycles 6 short circuits – tests completed with finalizing remaining 800 heat cycles • Class B: Only 1000 heat cycles By securing fulfillment of IEC 61238-1-1 ABB Kabeldon is compliant with EBR recommendations for connectors
