  2. Buzet is a Croatian town located in the heart of the northern part of Istria, near the border with Slovenia and Italy, well connected to all parts of Europe and Croatia

  3. The town museum (this building was a former Bigatto family house built in 1639) contain numerous exceptionally valuable artifacts from the Buzet necropolis as well as from the remains of the Roman settlement Pinguentum

  4. In Buzet’s old town every historic building has a note on the façade that indicates why the building was important

  5. The bronze earring, known as the Buzet Earring in archaeological literature, was predominantly found in the early Middle Ages in the graves of the native as well as Romanized Illyrian-Celtic people in the area between the Adriatic coasts and the Alps, especially in northern Istria between Buzet and the west coast. In the literature the earring appears in the 7th and 8th centuries. A silver replica of the Buzet Earring has been created as an original souvenir of Buzet in a joined project of the Municipiality of Buzet, Buzet Tourist Association, Regional Museum of Buzet and the local “A.Vivoda” Cultural Centre

  6. The Buzet Earring has been listed in the Cultural Heritage Register of the Republic of Croatia since 1968, while its samples have been kept in the Regional Museum of Buzet, the museum curator, professor SašaNikolić said

  7. The prehistoric collection contains stone, bone and ceramic objects found in various caves and ruins around Buzet. There are also tools, weapons and various pieces of ceramic pottery in addition to other objects dating to Paleolitic and Iron Age II

  8. The Antic collection offers a wide range of glass, metal and ceramic objects originating from the period of Roman rule

  9. The Lapidarium features Roman tomb stones and architectural objects dating to 3rd century BC found in Buzet and surrounding area and also monuments dating to the period of the Venetian rule

  12. Traditional kitchen Kitchen had always been the crucial part of any Istrian household-a gathering point around ognjisce (fireplace) where people would sit on benches, and illuminated by lumin – a traditional candle holfer, wait for the lady of the house to make the food

  13. Agricultural tools The collection contains objects used in agriculture, particularly for soil cultivation and vineyards

  14. Traditional Dress This section of the museum presents male and female traditional dresses from Buzet and the Mountain of Cicarija and traditional instruments as well as waving machine manufactured in the village nearby Buzet

  15. Heritage of Slavomir Cerovac Slavomir Cerovac (1902-1979) was one of the founders and the first employee of the Buzet Regional Museum. His rich, private collection thematically covers various aspects of life and work, from rural, ethnographic objects to the beginning of the urban life
