Han Meilin (born 1936 in Jinan, Shandong) is a Chinese artist most recognized today for his creation of the Fuwa dolls for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Han is also known to have lived through hard times during the Cultural Revolution.

  2. Han Meilin (China, 1936) was the first Chinese artist to receive the “Peace Artist” title from UNESCO. He is a prolific artist, known for his ink-wash paintings, sculptures, porcelains and calligraphy. He also designed the Fuwa, the mascot of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

  3. In 2005, Han contributed 1,000 of his works to Hangzhou. The gallery which bears his name was erected that same year. In 2011, the second phase of the gallery was completed, along with an additional 500 works from the artist

  6. Han Meilin (China, 1936) The most beautiful mother The design of the statue erected in Hangzhou in honor of a brave woman's life-saving act, Wu Juping, a 31-year-old woman. Citizens named Wu "the most beautiful mother" after she saved a 2-year-old girl in Hangzhou. Wu saw the girl dangling from the window when the child fell from a 10-story building and raced to catch her, preventing the girl from hitting the ground at full force and winning applause from the whole country.
