  2. Objectives • Share knowledge on eye tracking principles, applications and equipment • Disseminate the knowledge and research results from COGAIN fast and efficiently for end users, general public, developers and researchers

  3. Tasks 1/2 • T8.1 Tutorials on gaze-based interaction • Targeted at researchers • Contents will be developed on the basis of existing modules • T8.2 User training in gaze communication • Tutoring material applicable for both guided and self-study learning of the gaze communication tools will be developed and offered to the users

  4. Tasks 2/2 • T8.3 Scientific conferences • COGAIN partners will actively participate in conferences • The research results will be published in scientific conferences and journals • T8.4 Educational programme • Undergraduate courses will be catalogued • A master’s programme will be planned and promoted • Eventually a joint, multidisciplinary European Ph.D. programme in Gaze Interaction will be developed

  5. Deliverables • D8.1 Tutorials ready to be offered to major conferences and COGAIN Camp (Month 6 – February 2005)

  6. Milestones • M8.1 COGAIN Camp training (both for users and for researchers) (Month 12 – by August 2005) • M8.2 Active promotion of joint educational possibilities (Month 18 – February 2006)

Current Status • First tutorial available • NordiCHI 2004, Tampere, October 2004:Gaze-Based Human-Computer Interaction(Räihä, Hyrskykari, Majaranta) • Special sessions organised • IST Conference, Den Haag, November 2004:Networking session proposed (Hansen + other partners) • Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction (UAHCI), Las Vegas, July 2005:Communication by gaze interaction - from AAC to mainstream HCI (Hansen + other partners contributing) • Dagstuhl Seminar, Schloss Dagstuhl, September 2005:Efficient Text Entry (Harbusch + Räihä contributing)
