Accessibility law and regulation in Israel • 1998 - Equal rights act for people with disabilities The equal rights act for people with disabilities that came into effect in Israel in 1998, constitutes a higher framework for regulating accessibility to people with disabilities in public buildings and services • 2005 - Amendment 2 to the equality act legislated in 2005, defined accessibility as the ability to get to a place, move and find one's way in it, enjoy and make use of the service and information provided in it, use the facilities or participate in the activities there, in an egalitarian, respectful, independent and safe way • 2013 - Accessibility regulations In order to help implement the equal rights act for people with disabilities, service accessibility regulations, which regulate the procedures and practices in adjusting accessibility to service, were written in 2013. The document is arranged by chapters and sub-articles that include almost all fields of life

Accessibility in compulsory education • Equal Rights For Persons With Disabilities Law 1998 “The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor, as applicable shall establish provisions about the required accessibility accommodations, whether in general or for types of institutions in order to enable a person with disabilities reasonable accessibility to existing public places that are post-secondary institutions, and to learning services provided by these institutions including installation of auxiliary devices and auxiliary services”. • Rights of Students with Learning Disabilities in Post-Secondary Institutions Law- 2008

Accessibility in post-compulsory education • More than 310,000 students register yearly to 66 Higher Education Institutions (9 universities; 36 Academic Colleges; 21 Colleges of education) • "The regulation of higher education institutions” legislated in 2016. • Higher education institutions (PCE) required full accessibility by 24th of November 2017. • All PCE institutions have been undergoing a process of physical accessibility (buildings and infrastructures) to adjust the environment to most of the students according to a universal design approach.

Transition frompost- compulsory education to employment Equal Rights For Persons With Disabilities Law, 2016 -  Prohibition of Discrimination in Employment : • An employer shall not discriminate between his employees or persons seeking employment, by reason of their disabilities, provided that they are qualified for the job or position in question, in any of the following: (1) hiring, including hiring tests > (2) employment terms > (3) promotion at work > (4) training or professional advanced studies > (5) severance or severance pay > (6) benefits and payments given to an employee in connection with  retirement from work • The State shall participate in the cost of all adjustments made by an employer for each employee with disabilities”. participation is given for the following services: Initial training for the employer > Physical adjustments and accommodation > required equipment > Translation and transcription services > Compatibility Test & Adjustment of job requirements > Continuous guidance and guidance for the employer • The extent of the State's participation depends on the number of employees in the Company
