  11. Scriptural Meditation • Gets the attention of distracted minds, • is taught in scripture, • helps individuals focus on the things of God. • and lets God speak first. p.72

  12. Choosing a Scripture • Can be one verse or short passage • Can be related to the purpose of the meeting • Does not need to be familiar • Should be easy to read • Must be easily understood p.72

  13. Scriptural Meditation Ex. 15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father's God, and I will exalt Him. (NKJV)

  14. Prayer by Suggestion: • Involves people who normally don’t pray • Helps folks pray about personal needs they would never pray about out loud • Helps the group pray in agreement Ch.11

  17. Making Suggestions • Suggest one thing at a time. • Remind them to pray silently. • Pray about it yourself so you’ll know how long to wait. • Don’t be afraid of the silence. p.65

  20. Topical Praying • Keeps the prayer moving • Involves more people • Helps the group pray in agreement p.67

  21. 4 Rules of Topical Praying • Each person prays short prayers about one topic at a time. • Each person prays as often as they want. • The group continues praying about the same topic until someone introduces another topic. • Each topical prayer is part of the whole and doesn’t need a benediction. p.68

  23. Teaching Topical Prayer • Prayer walking is topical prayer in motion. • Combine it with prayer by suggestion. p.69

  25. Biblical Visualization • Focuses the attention of the group in one spiritual place, • prepares the group for conversation with God. • and lets Him speak first. Ch.14

  27. Using Biblical Visualization • Use only Biblical situations that people are familiar with, • Use the second person ‘you’, • And don’t give so many details that they lose focus of the theme. p.77

  29. Prayer Guide Commitment • Read the book and do the Study Guides. • See yourself in the throne room every time you pray. • Use at least one of the Prayer Guide techniques.
