  1. MODAPS PIP Report September 15, 2009 1-866-738-1275 9454131

  2. Summary of MODAPS Production 9/15 • Forward Processing C5, 5.1 and 4.1: • Terra and Aqua forward processing are as close to real time as possible. • There was an anomaly with the Terra science formatter equipment on days 250 (~6 hours) and 252 (~4 hours). • Collection 5.1 M*DHDFSR 2003 reprocessing for burned area reprocessing • The leading edge for this reprocessing is at day 2003/345. Processing is expected to complete at the end of this week. • The monthly burned area product will be reprocessed for the entire Terra and Aqua missions in December.

  3. Summary of PGE Deliveries to SDST (9/15) Collections 5 and 5.1 • Atmospheres: • PGE04 C5.1 for Terra Deep Blue has been baselined. • Land: • A new version of PGE36 (GPP Montana) was received. • A new version of PGE11(LSR) for Mandriva was delivered. Collection 6 • Level 1: • A new version of PGE02 (L1b) for Terra and Aqua has been baselined. • Land: • We have received the collection 6 versions of PGE16 (LST), PGE75 (daily CMG), PGE21 (8-day Surface Reflectance), PGE90 (Aeronet Subsetter) and PGE11(LSR)

  4. Summary of Science Testing (9/15) • Atmospheres: • A 5-day science test (1 Aqua, 4 Terra) for PGE04 Terra deep blue has completed and is under review. A second test using an updated PGE04 was completed and is under review. An additional 16 days of Terra will be tested when these results are approved. • Test data sets of L1 through cloudmask have been generated for April 2005, Terra and Aqua for atmospheres C6 science testing • Land Science Testing: • A science test for PGE72 (for land water mask) is running (34 of 38 16-day periods have completed). Three new 96-day periods were added to replace the periods where we were unable to produce data due to night mode only data. This should complete late next week. • We have completed generating a 1-year test data set of C6 PGE11(LSR) and PGE75(CMG) to be used for collection 6 science testing. • PGE16 has been approved for Mandriva. A C6 science test will be needed.

  5. Summary of Science Testing (9/15) • L1 Science Testing: • A second science test for C6 PGE01 was processed through LSR and control points and is under review. Results shpwed some problems and code changes are expected. • A science test plan has been submitted by the LDOPE group for PGE02. This test is expected to start later this week. • Mandriva Science Testing: • A science test for PGE06 on Mandriva failed and is under review by SSTG. A loader module change was made to PGE06 and the science test will be reprocessed. • A chain test from L0 through the land dailies has completed and is under review. The test will be run again next week. • PGEs 01,02,03, 07, 08, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 25, 29, 30, 31, 33, 35, 43, 44,45,46, 58,75,60,80,84 and 90 have passed Mandriva testing. • Land PGEs are being tested using inputs generated on the Mandrake system • Tests for 8- and 16-day PGEs completed; PGEs 21,45,31,58,25,35,29 and 34 passed, PGE72 failed.
