  1. The Difference Between Other Drugs and Marijuana Marijuana is not a drug! I stand by that, but it is really sad that for over 40 years this herb of nature has been classified with other abused substances such as cocaine, ecstasy and other dangerous substances people have used with reckless abandon.

  2. On a lighter note, the world has woken up to the potential benefits of marijuana. Some states in the United States and around the world have decided to legalize marijuana use, while other states and countries are on the path of legalization themselves. Why the change of tune you might ask. Are these lawmakers seeing what lawmakers back in the day were not capable of seeing due to lack of proof and technical know-how at the time use and possession was criminalized? Why marijuana is not a drug This is a very simple argument to win. As an advocate of marijuana, I will try to lay my reasonable argument and without a doubt you will agree with me that marijuana should have never been categorized with other harmful drugs which have been leading droves to their death. For a substance to be classified as a drug, research on this particular substance must be done on different aspect of drug addition, hazard and potential death when overdosed on. There are a few questions I will ask and answer on reasons why I and other advocates of the legalization of marijuana feel it should be removed from the harmful drug list.

  3. Can marijuana be abused easily? This happens quite rarely. It is very impossible to overdose on marijuana. 42 percent of adult Americans have smoked marijuana at least once in their lifetime, while about 1 percent of this statistics smoke it everyday. Is there any case whereby marijuana was linked to the death of its user? No, not one case has been ruled death due to overdose of marijuana. Since we are dealing with statistics, let me give you some chilling statistics of some substances I think, and I know you will agree with me should be added to the drugs list. Tobacco, according to statistics, is responsible for over 400,000 deaths each year and alcohol is linked to 75,000 deaths every year. The sad truth is these substances are not drugs and would not be added into the group anytime soon. 2. Does marijuana have any medical use? Every year since 1970 states in the U.S. have legalized marijuana due to medical purposes. It simply means marijuana which was wrongly accused to be a harmful drug, has been seen to have cure or relief for a lot of diseases. Today, marijuana is used to relieve symptoms of pain, nausea and vomiting associated with HIV/AIDS and chemotherapy meant for cancer patients.

  4. The use of marijuana has almost quadrupled amongst individuals between the ages of 50 and 60 who are prone to degenerative diseases of the bones and joints. Why people of this age group who are known for well thought out decisions, decide to go on a destructive path you? Well for once I would agree marijuana is the drug they use to ease the pain that comes with aging. Is marijuana safe to use? Everything we use needs to be safe, that is a fact. Using marijuana needs done in a safe manner, but banning it as a whole when there are no real facts of its hazardous tendencies is wrong. We need to be diplomatic when dealing with marijuana safety. Let of imagine this. If marijuana was regulated the same way alcohol is, do you think we will encounter safety issues? I doubt that. The criminalization of marijuana has brought about massive underground trades all over the world. Due to this, most marijuana products we found on the street cannot be verified as good enough for use; purity and potency cannot be determined.
