WSO Starting point WSO – MOC/SOC scenario • Spanish industry contributing to the G/S definition as far as current data allows. • CDTI/Roscosmos meeting on 23th-May-06 • CDTI wants to support WSO activities • MOC/SOC definition require some decisions to be made before the next steps are accomplished. MOC Definition MOC – Subsystems and Functionalities • MOC components, • WMCS (WSO Mission Control System) , including • TM/TC processing, Time Correlation, OBSW maintenance, FDS data provision, Trend Analysis, Flight Operations Plan, DB maintenance tools, Mission Planning (Phase II),... • Other Systems, • FDS, OBSM, Data Transmission, Data Distribution, Simulators,… Page 3

WMCS Open Points WMCS – major items TBC/TBD • Single-Backup/Distributed/Multiple MOCs ? • Cruise Phase / Routine Phase: same MOC ? • Base Technology (S2K,…) ? • Both/Only Secondary/Only Routine Phase Primary • Only one MOC commands the s/c at time. • Every MOC should be commanding qualified, by means of a Master pre-planned schedule file or by means of R/T commanding. • Critical Operations limited to primary MOC. • Costs / Risks / Development Calendars / Political / Infraestructure issues. GMV GMV- Major provider in MCS/SCS • GMV is a spanish privately-owned company devoted to engineering and software development for the aerospace market (http://www.gmv.com) • MOC and SOC experience with Agencies and Commercial operators, • MCSs: S2K 4.0, Cryosat/GOCE MCS, Galileo GSTB MCS, Astra, Eutelsat, ... • SCSs: SMOS, COROT, XMM-Newton (this was a combined MCS/SCS development for a distributed G/S mission). • Generic Own products line, • HiFly MCS (http://www.hiflycontrol.com) • focusSuite FDS (http://www.focussuite.com) • flexPlan MP (http://www.flexplan.com) Page 8
