User group purpose • User Group Draft Charter • Mission - The mission of the Mason MicroStrategy User Group (MMUG) is to educate and enlighten members from across the university by sharing MicroStrategy best practices, strategies, and tips in order to achieve academic and business unit goals. • Scope • The MMUG will support the Mason MicroStrategy user community. It will: • Have regular meetings - frequency TBD • Discuss an in-depth topic at each meeting as identified by users • Collaborate and discuss analytical and reporting topics • Communication • The MMUG meetings and all supporting documentation will be promoted and shared on reporting.gmu.edu -> MicroStrategy -> MicroStrategy User Group • Participation • Any MicroStrategy user with access privileges is welcome • New members may join by attending MMUG meetings • Leadership Group • We are looking for volunteers to serve on the MMUG Leadership Group • The MMUG Leadership Group would finalize the Charter and Scope, arrange meetings, determine topics, and communicate with the Business Intelligence Group and users

Microstrategy reports change process • MicroStrategy as a whole • Guided by a Steering Committee • Sets the high-level priorities • Manages major change requests • MicroStrategy Shared Reports • Created by the Business Intelligence Group • Managed by the Business Liaison Group • To request a change to a Shared Report • Create an SDE ticket using the form on the Business Intelligence Group website reporting.gmu.edu  Support • Business Intelligence Group contacts the Business Liaisons • Business Liaisons review, coordinate, and approve changes and enhancements

Librarian training • What is a MicroStrategy Librarian? • Within the Shared Reports area of each MicroStrategy project academic units and administrative departments may have a unique folder to collaborate on reports • It is the Librarian’s task to manage this folder and all subfolders for his/her unit • This includes completing the following tasks: • Manage reports, add, remove • Manage users • Grant access to folders • Remove access to folders • Creating new subfolders, deleting subfolders • Move reports from one subfolder to another subfolder • Sharing MicroStrategy best practices with their unit • Draft document emailed to User Group invitees • Business Intelligence Group will begin offering Librarian Training
