  1. Things To Know About Server Networking Cables

  2. 1. Server Networking Cables • Networking cables are networking hardware used to connect one network device to other network devices or to connect two or more computers to share printers, scanners, etc. • Several technologies are used for network connections. • In some home and industrial applications, power lines are used as networking cabling

  3. 2. Types of Networking Cable • Twisted Pair: Twisted pair cabling is a form of wiring in which pairs of wires are twisted together for the purpose of canceling out electromagnetic interference from other wire pairs from external sources. • Fiber Optics: An optical fiber cable consists of a glass core surrounded by several layers of protective material. They offer higher bandwidth and can cover longer distances.

  4. Coaxial Cables: Coaxial cables form a transmission line and confined the electromagnetic wave inside the cable between the center conductor and the shield. • Patch: A patch cable is defined as an electrical or optical cable that is used for connecting one electronic device to another towards building infrastructure for signal routing.
