  6. How It Works • A starting list of businesses in the local are will be created for the team. Each student may sign up for up to 5 businesses at a time to go present their materials to. • You may add to the list of businesses if desired after you have contacted and the 5 you signed up for.

  7. A few people from the team write up the letter that would be posted to local businesses by the student in order to raise money for the students travel. The Letter

  8. What Patrons Get • Patrons get an ad in the patron book depending on the amount of money that they donate • This letter will include the information about the team and what the patrons receive for donating different levels of money

  9. What you get when u donate • $ 10---- line in patron book • $ 25---- ¼ page • $ 50---- ½ page • $ 100--- full page • $ 200--- their name on the T-shirt • $ 500--- get name on robot • $5000– Team sponsor and are apart of team name

  10. Student Task • Each student is responsible for going to enough patrons to raise the incremental amounts of money that they need for the trips they plan to attend. • We need to raise $4000 by the end of November if we want to go to the third regional. • Our goal for Nationals is close to $9000 so if we make it at RIT’s regional we will shoot for that amount. • We have to be enthusiastic about raising this money and we need everyone to help out and help us achieve this goal. • First 2 regional’s: needs to raise $120 • All 3 regional’s plus Nationals if we make it needs to raise $675 • If u cannot raise the amount of money for the trips you wish to take the student is responsible for the balance.

  11. The 60/40 Split • The way that the money from businesses will be divided is based on a 60%/40% split. • The students will receive 60% of the donations that their businesses choose to donate. And the remaining 40% would be divided among the students on the rest of the team.

  12. The Reason • The reason for the 60 40 split is so that the students who are able to obtain large business donations do not have a large advantage over students who may not have the same connections.

  13. Money Money Money • All of the checks and money are written to the High School Robotics Team • The students get the 60% of the donations they receive and the 40 % gets spread throughout the team

  14. CAR WASH this Sunday • We are having a car wash this Sunday at the Hess gas station on the corner of 441 and 250 from 8am to 2pm • EVERYONE must sign up for the time that they are going to be there. • I need people to bring buckets, for the car wash. • We will be selling car wash tickets at school during lunches this week.

  15. How the patron drive will work.

  16. Individuals will contact companies to raise money for the competitions. • Companies that donates money receive recognition on our apparel or on the robot depending on how much is donated • Students will have a chance to choose businesses they want to visit

  17. Rules to follow • Students may only choose 5 companies to visit per week. They may substitute the ones listed with other ones that they desire. • No one should ever go to the same company twice asking for money, this gets annoying for the companies. (that’s why we need to keep track of where everyone goes) • If you pick somewhere to go and can’t do it, let us know or ask a friend to help you out. Handing it over to someone else means they get the money if there is any.

  18. How the money is divided • Because some kids have family connections, and some will get more lucky, so we instated a 60/40 split, like the rear folding seats is really hot SUV’s and minivans.

  19. Example:Bobby Shmoe • 40 people in the club • Bobby gets $100 from a local bike shop • He gets credit for $60 • The remaining $40 is split evenly among everyone, so Bobby gets ANOTHER dollar! • His total is now $61 • So to get to the first two Regionals each individual must raise 200 ($122/$78) • If someone raises more then they need, for example, Jimbo has enough so that after the 60/40 split he still has $700, (he only needs $675 for all three Regionals and the nationals…if we qualify) the leftover $25 gets split evenly to everyone.

  20. What if I don’t raise enough? • If for some reason you don’t get enough money, we will accept a personal check in the amount of the difference between the amount raised and the goal.
