Resolutions

Resolutions. To Decide. To Purpose. Resolve. To Determine To Do Something. Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you-- unless, of course, you fail the test? (2 Cor. 13:5). Resolutions.

  1. Resolutions To Decide To Purpose Resolve To Determine To Do Something Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you-- unless, of course, you fail the test? (2 Cor. 13:5)

  2. Resolutions There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods. So he called him and said to him, “What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.” Then the steward said within himself, “What shall I do? For my master is taking the stewardship away from me. I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg. I have resolved what to do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.” Luke 16:1-4

  3. Eunuch Jailer Resolutions Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” Acts 8:36-37 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. Acts 16:33

  4. Resolutions God The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying, “Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, And as I have purposed, so it shall stand: That I will break the Assyrian in My land, And on My mountains tread him underfoot. Then his yoke shall be removed from them, And his burden removed from their shoulders. This is the purpose that is purposed against the whole earth, And this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations. For the LORD of hosts has purposed, And who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, And who will turn it back?” Isaiah 14:24-27

  5. Resolutions God To the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 3:10-11

  6. Daniel 3 Friends Resolutions But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself…. So Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.” Daniel 1:8, 11-12

  7. Resolutions Paul When these things were accomplished, Paul purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.” Acts 19:21 Now I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that I often planned to come to you (but was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles. Romans 1:13

  8. Resolutions Paul But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy… Acts 20:24 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

  9. Resolutions Jesus Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem. (NKJV) As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. (NIV) Luke 9:51

  10. Resolutions Don’t make a resolution if you don’t intend to keep it. Expect to accomplish your goals. Make resolutions that are possible to accomplish.

  11. Resolutions Worth Making To Be Faithful in Attendance Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25) Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation… (Hebrews 2:1-3)

  12. Resolutions Worth Making To Be Faithful & Liberal in Our Giving Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come. (1 Cor. 16:1-2)

  13. Resolutions Worth Making To Be Faithful & Liberal in Our Giving And in this I give advice: It is to your advantage not only to be doing what you began and were desiring to do a year ago; but now you also must complete the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to desire it, so there also may be a completion out of what you have. (2 Cor. 8:10-11) But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor. 9:6-7)

  14. Resolutions Worth Making To Be More Humble & Unselfish And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God. (2 Cor. 8:5) Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. (Prov. 16:18) …God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. (James 4:6)

  15. Resolutions Worth Making To Be More Prayerful For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil. (1 Pet. 3:12) Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! (Matt. 7:9-11) And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 Jn. 5:15)

  16. Resolutions Worth Making To Assist the Unfortunate Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. (Romans 12:15) Jesus wept. (John 11:35) Better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to the house of feasting, For that is the end of all men; And the living will take it to heart. Sorrow is better than laughter, For by a sad countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, But the heart of fools is in the house of mirth. (Eccl. 7:2-4)

  17. Resolutions Worth Making To A Closer Study of the Bible Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.” (Matt. 22:29) As obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance. (1 Peter 1:14) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. (1 Pet. 3:15)

  18. Resolutions Worth Making To Be More Hospitable Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. (1 Pet. 4:9) Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. (Heb. 13:1-2)

  19. Resolutions Worth Making To Go To Our Brother Who Sins Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that 'by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector. (Matt. 18:15-17)

  20. Resolutions Worth Making To Forgive Those Who Ask Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, “I repent,” you shall forgive him. (Luke 17:3-4) For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matt. 6:14-15)

  21. Resolutions Worth Making To Spread the Gospel More But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. (Matt. 13:23) I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. (1 Cor. 3:6) And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)

  22. Decide Resolutions Purpose Determine Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. (James 5:17) Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. (Heb. 2:1) …Exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. (Jude 1:3)
