From 1962 to Today Juneau Symphony Board Recruitment • 1962: Founded by Cliff Berge, music teacher • First concert at Twentieth Century Theatre with 12 musicians • All volunteer conductors and musicians for 20 years • 1983-1999: Mel Flood first paid conductor • Hired in collaboration with UAS, full-time faculty, duties included conducting JSO • Recent years: Paid professional conductors • Kyle Wylie Pickett, 2000-2014 • Troy Quinn, 2015-2018
