  4. From the Hebrew Scriptures • Isaiah 34:4 - 4 And all the host of heaven will wear away, And the sky will be rolled up like a scroll; All their hosts will also wither away As a leaf withers from the vine, Or as one withers from the fig tree. (Isa. 34:4 NAU); those who do not live by the Law will perish by the Law • Jeremiah 8:13 - 13 "I will surely snatch them away," declares the LORD; "There will be no grapes on the vine And no figs on the fig tree, And the leaf will wither; And what I have given them will pass away." (Jer. 8:13 NAU); spiritual health comes from following God’s way of living • Habakkuk 3:17 - 17 Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail And the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls; a sinner will never be seen as righteous in God’s eye, therefore the sinner is condemned to Hell

  5. For Us Today • The Light can overwhelm the Darkness in us • You cannot live with both Light and Darkness in you (the Darkness will win) • Mark 3:25 - 25 "If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. (Mk. 3:25 NAU); A house divided against itself will not survive • Forgiveness is a tool of the Light over the Darkness • Darkness  builds up negative, strong emotions • Darkness/evil inclination likes to block forgiveness (Continued)
