  5. Mission The TCC’s mission is to provide comprehensive information systems to school districts, charter schools and education service centers throughout the state of Texas.

TxEISvsTxEIS State SIS Current TxEIS State SIS TxEIS Will be hosted at a ESC or TCC data center Price is for software and base level support Maximum price per student is consistent across all ESCs Support packages (beyond base level) are optional • May be hosted at ESC or installed at the LEA • Support is included in price • Pricing may vary between ESCs • Pricing may be tiered based on enrollment size

Advantages to State SIS TxEIS • Centralized hosting is more efficient and economical • Optional support packages allow you to buy only what you need • Help Desk tracking of customer calls will be implemented statewide • ESC Consultant training and certification will be implemented statewide • Over 150 functional enhancements will be added over the next two years

Enhancements • Additional applications such as Warehouse Inventory, Budget Amendment Requests, Standards Based Grading, Graduation Plans, Teacher Discipline Referrals, and many other student and business applications. • JasperReports Server which allows non-technical users to build their own reports and dashboards. • TxEIS Web pages will be evaluated and modified to meet to Section 508 requirements for people with disabilities. • The TCC will provide a transparent mechanism for TEA to satisfy data extraction and warehousing needs for the Education Data Warehouse (EDW).

State SIS Hosting • LEAs will be hosted at an ESC or TCC data center • Advantage of the cost savings of centralized hosting at a data center (no server hardware or software outlay) • Backups, software upgrades and new releases are automatically implemented, freeing up staff resources • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity guaranteed with centralized hosting • For LEAs using both the Student and Business applications, the entire database can reside at the data center

  10. State SIS Pricing • A maximum of $8 per student* – TxEIS Student • A maximum of $3 per student hosting fee (if hosted) • For subsequent contract years there is a built-in 3% increase • 2013-2014 $11.33 maximum • 2014-2015 $11.67 maximum • 2015-2016 $12.02 maximum *Only includes base support

  11. State SIS Support • Base Level Product Support Included with the TxEIS software: • Navigation of the Help, screens and fields • Explanation of on-screen help and data elements • Connection assistance • One point of contact at the LEA • No “assigned” consultant

  12. Additional Support Pricing • Districts will not be required to purchase additional support packages but will have the option to do so. • ESCs will offer support packages based on numbers of hours: Bronze, Silver, Gold, & Platinum

  13. Support Packages Based on a statewide “not to exceed” price of $95 per hour • Bronze: $7,125 75 hours • Silver: $9,500 100 hours • Gold: $16,625 175 hours • Platinum: $23,750 250 hours

Additional Support Includes • Phone calls and email support (7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) for more than base level questions • Training/workshops • Documentation • User Forums • Problem Resolution • Support package hours may also be applied to other services depending on availability at the ESC (i.e. on-site visits, after hours support, query writing)
