Year 9 Curriculum In year 9 students will participate in the program as one of their elective classes. This will ensure a well rounded education for all participating students. During specialised training sessions, the program will offer specific skill and tactical coaching and provide opportunities for employment through the completion of refereeing, first aid, coaching and conditioning courses. The basketball program will also be involved in numerous high quality competitions. Year 10 Curriculum In year 10, the basketball academy students will have the option of receiving 2 credit units towards their VCE through the completion of a VET – Sport and Recreation Course. This program will run over 2 years and be completed at the end of year 11.

  14. Costing 2014 Academy Squad: $350 Development Squad: $250 This includes a Berwick College uniform, all tournament fees and the expert coaching. We have been able to keep our costings to a minimum as our program is predominantly ran by qualified teachers with basketball expertise. Costings may change in the future especially in the Year 9/10 program as students gain extra qualifications such as Refereeing and Coaching accreditation, however, Gerard is an approved Basketball Victoria Coaching presenter and can run the coaching courses at school.

  15. Enrolment Process Application forms will be due at the end of term 2 to BSC’s front office We are hopeful ALL students trying out for the academy will be accepted into the program. The program will be levelled, so each participating student is receiving coaching to their current abilities. Early term 3 try outs held at the school
