Croatia • Plan for the 2-nd project year (cont): • Industrial cooperation • Ericsson Nikola Tesla, CRO GRID related contracted relationship; IBM Hrvatska; interested industrial and other entities • Technical independence i.e. national-level services • Improved Grid services at the national level • Implementation of organisational mechanisms and production infrastructure maintenance procedures • Functionality and performance expansion and optimisation: • Expansion of national infrastructure • The infrastructure will be expanded as the needs arise. • Plans are being made to establish CRO GRID National Grid Infrastructure in a similar way as by CARnet (no formal document, but strict rules). FYR of Macedonia • Plan for the 2-nd project year: • NGI organization and Consortium expansion, NREN cooperation • Inclusion of new member (SEE University, Tetovo) • eInfrastructure national strategy • National strategy for Electronic Communication with ICT, Ministry of Transport and Communications • Meeting with newly appointed Minister of Information Society • The National Grid Strategy document will be presented to the ‘SS Cyril and Methodius' University Council for approval. • Depending of interest and inclusion of other Universities in NGI (from Tetovo, Bitola) this document will be proposed for adoption to the Inter University Council. • National recognition of MARGI. Hungary • Report on May-August 2007: • NGI organization and Consortium expansion • Additional JRU established with 3 members in total: DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY at ELU and SEISMOLOGICAL OBSERVATORY of GGRI • The current JRU has been formed by two smaller application developer/user teams and one team that deals with grid development, operation, support, and training. This 'satellite' JRU will exploit the nationwide Grid resources (operated by the another HGCC JRU) together with other international resources for a specific purpose, namely for applications in the field of seismology and meteorology. The another JRU has been established earlier by the Hungarian Grid Competence Center (HGCC) involving the key and most experienced Grid players from Hungary. This center has launched the National Grid Initiative, and intends to become the national reference point. • SZTAKI is member in both JRUs • The management of two separated JRUs with different objectives (instead of one heterogeneous JRU) and with different leaders seems to be more feasible. ULAKBIM and AGMLAB developed an academic research engine which will use TR-Grid infrastructure and grid services. • EDA Engineering and Analysis (SME specialized in Computational Fluid Dynamics) • Expansion of national infrastructure • 8 sites are operational. Minimum site configuration is 64 core and 1 Tbyte storage area.
