  1. WELCOME IN GOUTELAS!... Euro Summer School: Observing and Data Reduction with the Very Large Telescope Interferometer Goutelas, 5-16 June 2006

  2. School objectives • Part of a cycle of 4 European schools (cf. talk by P. Garcia) • The objectives of this school is to train participants to the use of the VLTI instruments AMBER & MIDI • Organised as follows: • Lectures (theory, general presentation,...) • Tutorials (illustrated interferometry, related to practice sessions) • Practice sessions with real VLTI software • Illustrated seminars by specialists with actual results

  3. The 2 weeks organized as follows: • Preparation observations (1st week) • Data reduction and model fitting (2nd week) • Personal projects at the end of each week • Poster session on Thursday afternoon • Local web site: • http://vltischool (.obs.ujf-grenoble.fr) • Speakers from interferometry community

  4. Practical aspects • Laundry • Free day on Sunday (picnic possible, tourist guides available,...) • Internet available on wifi and in the computer room (limited bandwidth) • ... If any questions, please do not hesitate to ask...
