MIG Safety • Make sure all welding cables and their connections are in good repair. • Wear welding gloves, helmet, leather apron, welding chaps, leather shoes, and other personal protective equipment. • Never touch an electrical connection, a bare wire, work or a machine part which may cause electrical shock • Never weld with flammables in your pocket • Use pliers or tongs to handle hot metal from MIG welding process.

  7. MIG Safety Cont. • Select the correct shaded lens • Make sure the pressure is set at 25 psi • Preform all welds in a well-ventilated area. • Do not attempt to repair or maintain a MIG welder without thorough knowledge • Turn off the welder before you leave the welding area.
