  1. MADISON JUNIOR SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION & HEALTH

  2. HEALTH • PLEASE see the district website for your students health curriculum.

  3. Locks • Locks must be bought from MJS PE Department • $6.00 can last until Senior year of high school • Students should alert their teacher immediately if their lock is lost

  4. Time • Students are required to be to class on time or have a pass from the previous class. • Students will have 3 minutes to change for Physical Education. • Students will have 3 minutes to change at the end of the period.

  5. Proper Physical EducationAttire • T-shirt • Shorts • Sweat Shirt • Sweat pants socks • Sneakers • Please clean clothes at the end of the week • Students without the proper PE attire will be required to perform an alternative assignment. • NO Jewelry (Lock it UP)

  6. Keep the Gym CleanPlease • No food or drinks in the gym • No gum or candy in the gym • Water fountains are located in the locker rooms

  7. ILLNESS • If a Student is ill they must bring a note from home and give it to the nurse first. • The nurse will write them a pass to get out of PE for that day. • A doctors note is required for an illness that last longer than 3 days.

  8. Students Grade is based on… • Listening and ability to follow instructions • Knowledge of an activity/sport • Participation in an activity/sport to the best of their ability

  9. GRADING POLICY Students start with100 points for each activity as well Participation. Points will be deducted for the following… • Unprepared = -10 • Tardy to class without a pass = -3 • Lack of Participation and Effort =-5 • Disruptive/Unsafe Behavior = -5 • TOR/Sent to office = -20

  10. Everybody is entitled to a bad day. Students may forget their clothes or have a lapse of judgment. That is why we give them the ability to earn back their points. Students can stay after school during extra help time to earn back any points lost. STUDENTS CANEARN POINTS BACK!!!!

  11. Activities Include • Fitness • Team Sports (Basketball, Soccer, Team Handball, Flag Football, Softball, Baseball, Badminton, Frisbee) • Adventure Education • Dance • Individual Sport (Golf)
