Classes Rogue (Stealth) Shaman (Totems) Warlock (Cast spells and has Pet) Warrior (High Armor) • Druid (Change forms) • Hunter (Has Pet) • Mage (Cast spells) • Paladin (High armor and heals) • Priest (Cast spells) Death Knights are not included in this class as they are too high for the anticipated curriculum

  4. Roles • Tank • High Health, High Armor, • Top 3: Warrior, Druid (Bear form), Paladin • Role: Maintain Center of Aggression and soak up hits • Healer • Low Health, Low Armor, High Mana • Top: Priest, Druid (caster form), Paladin, Shaman • Role: Keep everyone alive

  5. Roles • DPS – Damage Per Second • High Damage Output • Top Class: Rogue, Hunter, Mage, Druid (Cat form) • Role: Kill things quick • CC – Crowd Control • Varies • Top 3: Rogue (sap), Mage (polymorph & frost nova), Hunter (traps), Priest & Warlock (fear) • Role: Stop enemies from attacking / running away

  6. Roles • Any class can fit most roles. • Talents are where you start tailoring your game play to roles • Glyphs also help

  7. Professions • Gathering • Mining – Gives stamina buff • Herbalism – Gives heal over time • Fishing – catches fish and other things • Skinning – Gives +critical strike buff

  8. Professions • Manufacturing • Alchemy – make potions • Blacksmithing – make mail or plate armor and weapons • Cooking – cook foods • Enchanting – add stats to weapons and armor • Engineering – make weapons and toys for yourself • Firs aid – make bandages

  9. Professions • Manufacturing • Jewelcrafting – make jewelry that enhance stats • Leatherworking – make leather armor • Tailoring – make cloth armor and bags • Inscription – make scrolls and glyphs

  10. Battlegrounds • During this course, you will focus on two BGs: • Warsong Gulch • Requires Level 10 • Capture the flag game – First to 3 wins • Arathi Basin • Requires Level 20 • Capture and defend nodes – First to 1600 points wins
