  1. Music video analysis

  2. Fix your face • This song is by the band seeyousoon... • As for now we haven't exactly established a genre for the type of music that we are working with but this song and its video potrays a very similar vibe to what we are trying to achieve. • We came across this song and the music video when searching for a song to use, we liked it but as it already had a video, and the artists had an image it would be hard to compete with.

  4. What do I think? (first impressions)

  5. Performance/narrative?? • When watching this video its clear to me that the video shows no narrative, the whole thing is purely perfromance based and I think that this can become very boring for an audience, however fans had a different view...

  6. Performance  • The performance element of the video was cool, however since I could not really seem to find the 'hidden meaning' or message it all seemed a bit random. When it comes to making a music video it's good to have equal parts performance and narrative to keep the audience engaged. The song even has a message running through "fix your face" and they don’t seem to use this to their advantage.  • On the other hand, this director may not have wanted a narrative and kept it opurely artistic and looking interesting, as this could have been about what the fans of the band like and catering to their audience.

Overall opinion • Overall I did like the most part of this video, I think that the artistry was interesting and we as a group took a lot of insperation from certain shots to use in our own video. However, I think that certain scenes have too much going on and too many people doing something, it's confusing and you don’t know where to look, on top of that the lack of narrative does not leave you with a lot after watching it, it's not very memorable, but even though these are my opinions I have to keep in mind that their budget would not have been high and for the money they had, they did a good job on creating something at all.
