  2. Notre Dame Cathedral Courtesy of Cornell University Library on Flickr The Notre Dame Cathedral has a beautiful setting for the scene where Kate and Petruchio get married in the “Taming of the Shrew.” The Notre Dame Cathedral captures the time period in which the events in the story take place and looks like a church you may see at the time. It has a long history and is around at the time that the events in “The Taming of the Shrew” transpire. The Cathedral is also very intricately designed and is the type of building that a rich daughter like Kate would be married in.

  3. Taj Mahal Courtesy of antkriz on Flickr The Taj Mahal is one of the most recognizable buildings one the face of the earth. It is intricately designed, painstakingly built, and made for someone incredibly rich. In the Taming of the Shrew, Kate and Petruchio meet at Senor Baptista’s grand home. His house is one of the nicest around and is huge and made out of only the finest materials. For these reasons, I believe that this location would be a good place for Bapitista’s home, where Kate and Petruchio first meet.

  4. Baker Mansion Courtesy of hayeslarge.com Baker Mansion is an almost legendary building in Altoona, PA. It is known to most for being very old and supposedly “haunted.” However, we believe that it would be the perfect place for Petruchio’s home in Taming of the Shrew. In the story, he lives in an old, somewhat run down place that is slightly creepy. For these reasons, we believe that the Baker Mansion is a great match for Petruchio’s home in the Taming of the Shrew.
