耶利米哀歌的背景 • 針對耶路撒冷於 586 B.C.被巴比倫毀滅而寫。 • 耶利米哀歌的希伯來文書名是「ekah」，意思是「何以、為甚麼、唉，怎麼會這樣呢？」 ekah 通常用來做為親朋好友去世時，寫輓歌詞句的開頭語。希臘文譯本書名是「Threnoi」(眼淚)。 • 用詩歌寫成，第一到第四首用字母詩 (離合體 acrostic)的形式完整紓發哀傷的情感。除了第三首有66節外，其餘的四首詩歌每一首都是22節。 • 教導信徒如何表達情感,從逆境絕望中看到盼望 • 舊約聖經中的五「聖卷」: 路得記、以斯帖記、雅歌、傳道書和耶利米哀歌。
