  1. Othello Project English IV Periods 2, 3 & 5 Ms. Z. Aleman

  2. This project will require you to choose a character and create a product for said character to SELL/ENDORSE in an infomercial. Infomercial: a long commercial, usually for television, which advertises a product or service in an informative way. This commercial informs or instructs, especially in an original and entertaining manner(see QVC)

  3. All products are subject to approval by teacher. No repetitions between characters or classes. You may work individually or in pairs ; all members of the same class period As the endorsing character from the novel, you will have a maximum of 5 minutes to present your infomercial during class.

  4. Sell It…..1. Name and show the product2. State the reason for creation/Inspiration3. State benefits of the product 4. Demonstrate how the product works 5. Include celebrity endorsement(must be relevant to Othello in some way) 6. Provide testimonials

  5. Sell It…..7. Summarize8. Explain costs/payment plans/delivery info9. Explain Guarantees10. Provide teacher with a typed transcript (verbatim)

  6. Teacher Tips: A. Watch infomercials B. Use repetition/catchy pitch C. Use your space/proximity D. Keep time E. Provide samples/ask for volunteers F. Include music/ background G. Use actual characters from novel as reference/endorsement H. Record yourselves and add out-takes
