  4. Regarding deliverables...

  5. Regarding deliverables... • All due deliverables have to be submitted to the Commission several weeks before the review -> they must be produced urgently (D14, D16, 17). • Peer-review procedures needed. • Progress report (D18): online forms to be completed urgently. A first draft will be circulated shortly thereafter so that partners can check both the description and effort indicated for the whole year. THIS IS A KEY DOCUMENT. • Cost justification (D19): • Check comments from the Commission on the first year justification. • Form C duly completed -> send draft in advance to FIMIM for revision. • Breakdown of costs (personnel, travel, etc.) to be submitted to FIMIM for the consolidated report. Major cost items need to be detailed. • Audit certificate needed.

  6. Regarding deliverables... • Cost justification (D19): correlation between effort and personnel costs • Partners using FC or FCF cost modality: both permanent and temporary staff can be justified • Partners using AC cost modality: only temporary personnel can be justified • Partners using AC will have to specify which part of the effort corresponds to permanent staff. Effort (staff + temp) Progress report (pm) Hours of personnel involved (staff + temp) Cost justification (€) Effort (staff + temp) Progress report (pm) Hours of personnel involved (temp) Cost justification (€)

  7. Regarding review recommendations... • Remarks from Annual Technical Review #1: Brussels, 16 March, 2005 • Ensure a more balanced participation of partners in the Network in strategic planning (WP2 & WP3 biased towards Spain, unbalanced participation in surveys  thorough validation process needed to ensure endorsement by all participants). • Indicate explicitly progress on every individual milestone of the DoW. • Propose specific actions in favour of gender equity and assess their impact. • Establish links with other FP6 relevant projects, like SEMANTICMINING and BIOPATTERN. • Provide explicit networking progress assessment in the next reporting period based on benchmarking indicators, particularly on collaborative activities (and integration). • Develop an outreach plan to ensure that future results will target important audiences, like clinicians, regulatory authorities and the public. • Consider multilingual approach to the different thesauri developed in the consortium • Reinforcement of collaboration in and between pilots requires special attention. Validation of conclusions by all Specific actions for gender equity, links with other NoEs, indicators Outreach plan Multilingual thesauri? Reinforced cooperation within and between pilots

  8. Regarding review recommendations... Actions and answers, to be discussed: Validation of conclusions by all • Include in D16, D17 a discussion to alleviate any suspicion of bias in conclusions? • Suggestions?? • Expected to be included in D16. • Devote some time at the review to explain it. Outreach plan Multilingual thesauri? • Discuss why it was discarded in D17? • Mention this at the review? • Explain in D14 the progress made: cooperation has progressed between 6.1 and 6.2. Other links? • Clarify in D14 the partners contributing to each pilot? • Add conceptual graphics that explain integration? • ISCIII presentation at review as WP leader. Reinforced cooperation within and between pilots

  9. Regarding review recommendations... Actions and answers, to be discussed: • Gender: Specify how gender equity has been promoted in project activities (eg., Training Challenge in D17). • Clustering: Explain in Progress Report the links established with other NoEs, cluster meetings held, Joint Summer School, exchange of gender plans, etc. Present this at the review. Cross-reference among NoEs in project ‘fiches’. • Indicators on collaborative activity and integration: • A series of indicators of network success were already included in the DOW (pages 7-8). • Quantitative (number of papers, number of events, etc.): review them and explain the progress achieved at the review? • Qualitative assessment of the degree of integration achieved and quality of such integration: • ‘Map’ of collaborations established before and after INFOBIOMED? • Concurrent/future projects developed among partners thanks to the network? • Suggestions?? Specific actions for gender equity, links with other NoEs, indicators
