PUL: Carbon Flip • The Rule: The team with the fewest motorized vehicles at the field at game time wins the Carbon Flip (CF) and gains the traditional advantages associated with winning the flip. If the number of motor vehicles is equal, the captains revert to the standard flip process. • The Rationale: 1.Reduce the carbon-related impact of our leagues. 2. Keep environmental impact top of mind within our league. 3. Show our community how green priorities can complement regular activities. • The Results: Most teams embraced the idea. Winning team averaged 1.6 cars. www.pultimate.ca VC WILL PROVIDE PRIZES FOR ANY SPONSORED LEAGUES RUNNING THIS KIND OF INITIATIVE, HOPEFULLY ENCOURAGING PARTICIPATION

  9. Going forward… • Continuous investigation into Green materials and manufacturing processes • Continue to allocate a portion of revenue to Green initiatives • Commit to including Green aspects to EVERY sponsorship and only work sponsor Green events • Carbon offsetting credits for manufacturing (VC) and shipping (customer) • Green promotions: Buy a jersey, plant a tree

  10. Conduct a green audit • http://www.zerofootprint.net: The Zerofootprint group of companies empowers communities, companies, and organizations to live ingeniously in a low carbon world. • Audit your organization, and encourage your members to audit their lives • Once you know the size of your footprint, do something about it – and encourage your organization/company to follow • As an organizer, you have access to and influence over hundreds or thousands of people… lead by example and encourage others
