Øien • Duration: Nov. 2000 - Nov. 2006 • Funding: The Research Council of Norway (5 PhDs, 1 senior researcher = 12 MNOK) + NTNU (2 PhDs, 1 post doc) • Main objective: Development of bandwidth-efficient, adaptive transmission schemes for wireless multimedia communications. • WWW: http://www.tele.ntnu.no/projects/beats

Achievements & plans • Approx. 30 research papers published (by June 2003) in international fora (journals + conferences). • Several more under review. • Main results: To be discussed in later presentations! • Participation in the 6th framework program NoE proposal NEWCOM (Network of Excellence on Wireless COMmunication), 2003. • Closer cooperation and interaction with Wireless IP. • Participation in COST 273 and COST 289. • Follow-up project proposal: CUBAN - Co-Optimized Ubiquituous Broadband Access Networks.
