  3. Overview • Targeted for EDM converted Premier customers • Forwards critical alerts to Legato/EMC support via email • Assist in the transition of EDM customers to NetWorker • Helps Legato support be more proactive and assist in identifying critical events • Not available in evaluation mode

NetWorker Client/ Storage Node NetWorker Server NW Application nsrd RPC event sent to nsrd Architecture • Uses existing event notification architecture • Pre-configured notification resources monitor and email critical events to customer support • All mail home notifications are initially disabled and need to be manually enabled Mail Home Email

Functional Description • Feature not enabled via Enterprise Enabler • Requires a Mail Home enabler • Email alerts are configured to be sent out immediately (Immediate Alerts) • Email subject line • MH – NW <Company Name> <Site-Id> • Company name truncated to 32 characters • Email contents • Company name, Site-Id, Phone number, Email address • Description of event • Email recipients • Legato/EMC support • Customer’s NetWorker administrator • Additional recipients specified by customer

Immediate Mail Home Alerts • Alert created and emailed when an event occurs. • After sending the alert the notification for this event is disabled. • Avoid multiple alerts for same event • Notification needs to be manually re-enabled • Customer must re-enable notification, or no further detection/notification can occur

  8. Mail Home Events • Resource file corruption • Bootstrap backup failure • Unsatisfied mount media request • Backup device(s) that were automatically disabled • Core NetWorker daemons not running (nsrindexd/nsrmmdbd)

NSR (Server) Resource Modifications • Support email address • Specifies customer support email address for mail home emails • Read-Write • Initially set to support@legato.com • Site Id • Identifies the NetWorker server at customer sites • Required to enable mail home notifications • Read-Write
