Capital Hold ‘Em • Each district has a district board, which: • plans district events (such as District Convention) • supports its clubs • acts as a link between clubs and the international structure of CKI • District officers are elected at District Convention and serve from April 1st to March 31st of the following year

High Roller Status • Become best friends with the rest of the district board! • Work in a team environment in which your decision matters • Develop your leadership abilities to a whole other level • Improve CKI at the club and district level! • With great power comes great responsibility! • Each position has its own specific responsibilities • When you run for office, you sign a service agreement • Required attendance and travel to district events and board meetings

The Royal Flush DST D-Gov • Prints/distributes the Capital Courier to those in good standing • Develops and receives content for the Capital Courier • Responsible for all official records/correspondence, and minutes • Answers questions about MRF’s • Prepares the operating budget • Works with club treasurers & their paperwork • Makes sure board stays on schedule • Assists LTG’s • Main contact with other district and the Kiwanis Family • Similar to the club president District Editor LTG • Supervises all the clubs within their division • Works closely with Kiwanis • Serves as a liaison to a District Committee

Other Important Reminders DCON • Registration (Friday Night): • Bring all official documents • House of Delegates I (Saturday): • Nomination & Nominating Speech (1 min each) • Caucuses (Saturday Afternoon): • Introduction, Presentation of platform, Answer questions (7 min total) • House of Delegates II (Sunday Morning) • Short speech right before election (1 min) • Exception for Governor: Speech (2 min), 3 random questions (1 min each) • District Awards Deadline: 01/09/2013 • DCON Registration: • Early: $115 • Regular: $135 • DCON Hotel Costs: • $90+ p/night
