  2. What Is A Dental Hygienist? A dental hygienist is a licensed professional who specializes in preventive oral health, typically focusing on techniques in oral hygiene, & some are licensed to administer local Anastasia.

  3. Common Procedures Common procedures performed by hygienist include cleanings known as: • Prophylaxis • Scaling & root planning • Taking of prescribed radiographs • Dental sealants • Administration of fluoride • Providing instruction for providing instruction for proper oral hygiene & care

  4. Why Am I Interested? I’m interested in Dental Hygiene because I like to help people. It seems like a good job and a nice way to earn a good pay. I think I might be good at it.

Job/Length Requirements & Average Yearly Salary: Several Education Options: • 2-Year certificate program or associate’s degree in dental hygiene • Successful completion of an accredited dental hygienist program is the usual requirements for entering this career. • High School Degree • Submitted college entrance test score to the institution. • An Average yearly salary is $60,000 • Certificate programs can be completed in 2-3 years

  7. What did I Learn this year in science that is used in that career: I learned different things this year. I learned different things like how the body works and about oral hygiene. I also learned about tobacco cancer. I learned the different effects to tobacco cancer and what is looks like when someone has it. So I wants to help people and encourage them to keep there teeth nice white and clean.!=)
