  3. Survey Process and Procedures • Preliminary decisions • Groundwork • Implementation • Conclusion • Review of survey results • Use of survey results for marketing and administration purposes

Preliminary Decisions • Who will be responsible to organize and administer the survey? • How will the survey be conducted? • When will the survey be administered? • What internal and external concerns need to be addressed? • How will the survey results be used for internal and external purposes?

Groundwork • Register for the survey • Determine survey dates • Become familiar with survey components, timetable, and data needs • Determine survey samples and decide how samples will be generated • Gather respondent data for faculty and students • Prepare survey letters and arrange for distribution • Market survey via library and student mechanisms

  6. Implementation • Communicate survey details with library staff • Distribute survey • Monitor survey responses • Answer questions/email related to the survey • Send reminder letter(s)

  7. Conclusion • Close survey • Thank library staff and university personnel who assisted in the survey effort • Review survey results to identify areas for further analysis and follow up efforts • Use LibQual+ survey report to generate customized report for planning and decision making purposes
