  1. JESUS IS GOD’S CHRISTMAS GIFT TO YOU Isaiah 7 & 9

  2. 600 years before Christ, the Prophet Isaiah described His birth, ministry, death, resurrection, & Kingdom Scholarly theologians who hold Biblical miracles as “literary fabrications” have promoted many theories in order to deny the “miracle” of prophecy. They say that the authors actually wrote history as if it were prophecy

  3. The prophecy of the virgin birth is completely astounding and was given to a most unlikely person

  4. With war looming, God’s speaks calm through the Prophet, Isaiah, to Ahaz, King of Judah Isa. 7:4 ‘Be careful, keep calm and don’t be afraid. Do not lose heart because of these two smoldering stubs of firewood—because Israel and Syria are plotting war against Judah7Yet this is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘It will not take place, it will not happen,

  5. Who is Ahaz, King of Judah (700 BC)?

  6. Idol worshipping King Ahaz had his own plan. (If God didn’t protect them, they would die) 2 Kings 16:7 Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son. Come up and save me from the king of Syria and from the king of Israel, 8 And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the king’s house, and sent it as a present to the king of Assyria.

  7. Ahaz believesIsrael and Syria will attack, so he must act. He refuses to believe God’s word that they won’t attack. Isa. 7:11 “Ask a sign for yourself from the Lord your God; ask it either in the depth or in the height above.” • But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord!” (McGee says Ahaz is the biggest hypocrite in the Bible) Ask anything!

  8. The stubbornness and hypocrisy of King Ahaz is making people, and God, “weary” (impatient) Isa. 7:13 Then he said, “Hear now, O house (family) of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?

  9. Liberal theologians say “virgin” should read “maiden”, but other passages and the N.T. prove “virgin” is correct. Isa. 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, THE virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. It was 600 B.C. But God had Mary in view already Matt. 1:22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,”which is translated, “God with us.”

  10. Jesus is God’s Gift of peace King Jesus will bring peace to all nations of the world Savior Jesus will bring God’s peace into your heart Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Isaiah 2:3 He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” 4 He shall judge between the nations, They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Neither shall they learn war anymore.

  11. God’s Christmas Gift to you is Jesus and He brings a ton of gifts with Him. Matt. 1:21 Forgiveness John 3:16 Eternal life, delivered from hell Rom. 3:21 Righteousness Rom. 5:1 Peace with God Rom. 5:2 Access to grace Rom.10:4; Gal.3:13 No longer under the condemnation of the Mosaic Law
