  19. Initiative #3: Code/Ordinance

  20. Form-based Code Update Revisions to the Code: • Consultants are assuming the form-based code will become part of the existing zoning ordinance, probably added to Section 25 which contains Special Districts. • The code is being referred to as the Augusta Sustainable District ordinance. • Article 6, containing sustainable regulations has been added by Southface.

  21. Draft Code Existing zoning map: 16 zones within the project area

  22. Draft Code Proposed Regulating Plan (new zoning map): 6 zones

  23. Draft Code Organization of the code

  24. Draft Code Article 3: Building Form Standards (T3-R) Each Transect has its primary form giving rules on one page. Sample page

  25. Draft Code • Article 5: • Architectural Standards • Additional design parameters for specific architectural details. • Shown on this page: • Porches • Balconies • Stoops Sample page

  26. Initiative #4: Catalytic Projects

  27. Exciting Developments • Because we are under budget and ahead of schedule, HUD has allowed us to use excess funds to develop a “real-world” training program for displaced residents. • We have been asked by the White House to apply for the SC2 program which could benefit the entire City.
