Spring 2017 Registration

Full-time 1st year MBA students must register on Wednesday, October 26th at 12:30PM for Spring 2017 courses. Choose core classes and electives individually to accommodate your schedule. Check for blocks and appointment time in advance. Use all available resources to assist in planning your elective selection.

  2. Spring 2017 Registration Wednesday, October 26th 12:30PM ALL Full Time 1st Year MBA students register at the same time

Core Classes • Required Spring 2017 Core Classes: • BUSM 616: Managerial Accounting • BUSM 621: Strategic and Transformational IT • BUSM 624: Operations Management • Register for each course individually and choose 0101 or 0201 for each course to accommodate your schedule • You do not have to register for the same sections you are currently enrolled in

Electives • Register for 6-10 total elective credits in Spring 2017 (12-16 total Spring 2017 credits) • Use all resources available to assist in planning your elective selection • Spring 2017 Electives Spreadsheet • Career Track Spreadsheet & Faculty Advisors • OCS & MPO • 2nd Year Students & Clubs • Faculty • Start with MPO!

Registration • Check for blocks in advance and check your appointment time • Testudo > Appointment and Registration Status • If you have a registration block you will not be able to register until the block is lifted. Common blocks include: • Transcripts • Immunizations • Financial **MPO does NOT have the ability to over-ride these blocks** • All 1st Year MBAs should have an appointment time of Wednesday, 10/26 at 12:30pm. If your account lists something different, please contact Komal as soon as possible.

Registration • How to Register: • Testudo > Registration (Drop/Add) > Spring 2017 > Click “Accept” • Add your core classes and electives • How do I know when a class if offered and who is teaching it? • Spring 2017 Electives Spreadsheet • Are there seats available? • Testudo > Schedule of Classes > Spring 2017

Waitlist • If a course is full, add yourself to a wait list! • You cannot be registered for one section of a class and be on the wait list for another • Wait list check-in does not have to be done until the semester starts • If you remove yourself from a wait list, we cannot put you back on in your place

Plan Wisely! • Make sure you know where you will go to register at 12:30pm on October 26th • Check your appointment and make sure you do not have any blocks prior to Wednesday, October 26th • Check your Immunization & Admissions blocks! • If you have a question, ask Komal • Do not wait until the last minute!

  11. Step-by-Step Registration Instructions

  12. Step 1: Click on Registration (drop/add) from testudo.umd.edu

  13. Step 2: Select ‘Spring 2017’ from the drop-down menu and click ‘accept’. Login with your Directory ID and password

  14. Step 3: Blank chart will appear Enter Course Code i.e. BUSM616 Enter Section i.e. 0101 or 0201 Leave Grd Meth as is Entering “credits” is optional. If you leave blank, it will auto-fill Press ENTER

  15. Step 4: After you hit enter, the below message will appear: “You are adding/dropping a Non-Standard Course BUMO714 0201(10/24/13 - 12/13/13) This course may have different add/drop policies than other courses, please review information at http://registrar.umd.edu/current/registration/non-standard.htm To process the change to your schedule press the ENTER button.” Step 5: Press ENTER again to acknowledge the message

  16. Step 6: If the course has been successfully added to your schedule, it will appear in the chart

  17. Step 7: If the course is full, you may add yourself to the waitlistStep 8: Click “Add to Waitlist”

  18. Step 9: Check the box confirming you understand the policyStep 10: Check which section(s) you would like to be on the waitlist for. Press “Return Section(s)”.

  19. Step 11: If you’ve been successfully added to the waitlist, the below message will appear, “1 section was added to the waitlist”Step 12: Press ENTERStep 13: Press SIGN OFF to complete registration
