Bring It Back: Bringing National Nursing Conferences Back to PCTU Connie Myres MSN, RN, CCRN and Sarah Beelman BSN, RN Methods Results Purpose • Each nurse completed the tool and submitted it to the ENC. She then created the video using the information. • All PCTU nurses were invited electronically to view and give feedback on the presentation. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. • Using a different forum that is accessible with technology and user friendly made it more desirable to everyone. The purpose is to provide a tool for nurses to bring back lessons learned at national conferences supported by unit funds and report it in a useful format. • A tool was created and given to nurses who were attending a national conference. • Each nurse was assigned a lecture to report on. They were to list the name of the session, three things they remembered most about the presentation, and how they would incorporate this knowledge into the PCTU nursing practice. • Utilizing technology was of interest so the information was presented in a U-tube video. The video could only be viewed by invitation and could be accessed by nurses on their mobile devices, home computers and on the unit. PCTU Nurses Attend National Pediatric Congenital Heart Conference Fall 2010 Conclusion / Implications Bringing it Back! We plan to expand this tool and form through the ERC committee and the PCTU so all conference attendees have the opportunity to share their lessons learned at national conferences funded by unit funds. Lessons Learned: Next time we need to label each video with what topics are in it, because each video could only be ten minutes so we had to break it up.
