  2. What do you need? • Cover Letter • Resume / Curriculum Vitae (CV) Completed in your Career class Work Sample Past Reports Portfolio (Certificates, Awards, Qualifications)

  3. When and where is it? Dates: • Wednesday 26th November • Thursday 27th November • Friday 28th November Location: School Library

  4. When do I get notified of event? List of times and names will be displayed on: school website and Careers noticeboard outside careers office

  5. What to expect? • 15 Minute interview with two respected members of the community • 5 Minute evaluation and feedback time • Questions will be industry specific according to type of position you are applying for

  6. What do you need • You must bring your Resume/CV, cover letter, work sample and portfolio to the interview • You must arrive 30 minutes before your allocated interview time • You must dress appropriately

  7. Appropriate Dress Requirements for BOYS Option A - Smartly Dressed • Suit • Collared Shirt • Long Pants • Leather Shoes No - Thongs/Sporting Wear /Singlets/ Hoodies/ Hats

  8. Appropriate Dress Requirements for BOYS Option B - Full School Uniform • School Collared Shirt • School Pants/Shorts • Black Leather Shoes • School Jumper No - Thongs/Sporting Wear/Singlets/Hoodies

  9. Appropriate Dress Requirements for GIRLS Option A - Smartly Dressed • Stylish Skirt/Dress/Pants preferred • Sensible footwear ie Not too high No Short or low cut skirts/shorts/tops/dresses

  10. Appropriate Dress Requirements for GIRLS Option B - Full School Uniform • School Collared Shirt • School Skirt • Black Leather Shoes • School Jumper/Blazer No - Thongs/Sporting Wear /Singlets/ Hoodies/ Hats

  11. Presentation & Hygiene • Ensure you have clean ironed clothes • Deodorant recommended before you arrive to school • Hair brushed or styled • Good communication skills including eye contact, hand shake, appropriate language

  12. What is Appropriate Language? • Yes not yeah • No not nah • No swearing or foul language • Finish your sentences

  13. Tips for a Successful Interview • Be prepared to ask a question to the interviewer • Don’t ask about work hours and wages • Promote your good personal qualities such as willingness to work, polite, honest, reliable, good communication skills, team player, “can do” approach, proactive, etc...
