  2. Las Herrerias de Rio Madera Through a careful management program, the estate ensures the protection of its wonderful natural environment, which is home to a great variety of indigenous wildlife.

  3. The Estate There are two houses currently the estate. The original estate farmhouse, El Cortijo de Rio Madera, is 100 years old and has been completely restored in traditional style whilst incorporating environmentally-friendly technology. Original stone and timber features have been retained where possible. The farmhouse has solar power, under floor heating and wood from the estate serves as fuel for the large open fireplace and stoves.

  4. The Cortijo The cortijo is currently being run as a self-catering rental business and is registered by the Andalusian Ministry of Tourism. It has been awarded the highest grade possible “Superior”. The cortijo comprises some 500 m2 on two floors and has seven double/twin bedrooms and six bathrooms. The communal areas include two living rooms, a dining room, kitchen, larder and laundry room, a library, games room and TV room. One massive open fire and two wood burning stoves.
