  2. Facts • Duralumin was made German metallurgist Alfred Wilm. • Duralumin can be also called Duralum or Duraluminum. • It is made out of 90 – 95% of aluminum, 4 – 5% of copper and less than 1% of manganese.

  3. Properties • Duralumin like Aluminum are both strong and light but Duralumin is more stronger than Aluminum and its heat and electrical conductivity are less than Aluminum. Duralumin is made from aluminum, copper and manganese making it stronger. And is more resistant to corrosion.

  4. Uses • Duralumin’s was first used to make rigid airship frames because of its lightness and strength. • Duralumin is now used to make houses, boats and airplane frames because of its good properties
