  10. Edible parts of plants Roots of some plants are edible because they store the food prepared by the plant Eg: carrot, beet root, radish, turnip, sweet potato

  11. Stems of certain plants are edible. Eg: Sugar cane, potato, ginger, lotus, onion, garlic , celery, asparagus etc

  12. Leaves of certain plants are used as vegetables. Eg- spinach, cabbage, lettuce etc Coriander and mint leaves are used for garnishing as well as to add flavour to food.

  14. The edible fruits of plants are used as vegetables and fruits Eg- drum stick, papaya, tomato ,chilli, pumpkin etc

  21. Animals also provide us with food materials Eg- milk, meat, egg, honey, sea food etc
